Its quite unusual to see this platform.....why ?
There are three ferries and it is normal practice to have one or two in service and one sitting on this platform under maintenance..
The James Newman has been towed up to Hull for repairs, and the ferry staff are none too pleased about it.... They have a fully equipped and staffed shiprights workshop on site but the current operators of the ferry, SERCO,  have decided it would be more economical to send the work elsewhere.

This picture shows the interior of my previous picture...The old Military school... assuming they dont get separated on the site...
The ground floor has two large rooms,  the other one used to have an upper gallery but when more space was needed the ceiling was lowered and the gallery sacrificed to make way for a new upper floor.
