Welcome to the beta version of the We Love Woolwich website. It is fully functional, and all submitted content will be in the final version, however aesthetic improvements, bug fixing etc. will be going on. Please help by reporting any issues or bugs you encounter.
This site will include history, maps and current issues about Woolwich (and the surrounding areas), a town in south-east London with a long and interesting history, and possibly an exciting future. you can submit your knowledge and opinions about the Woolwich area- either formally as an article or more informally on the discussion forum.
Having undergone a slump in the late 20th Century, Woolwich is now undergoing something of a renaissance. However, the price of this seems to be the destruction of many of Woolwich's landmarks, like the planned demolition of the art deco Co-Op building on Powis Street (the tower of which is shown on the left), and the in-progress demolition of the Love Lane area, including the old Post Office. What do you think of the plans for Woolwich?
